How to get a lean, strong body with NEWSTART, as good as a movie star – for FREE!!

Healthy lifestyle and bodyWhen I talk about health, I am often inundated with talk about weight loss, and most people associate weight loss with good health. So I have succumbed to pressure and I am going to do a series on having a healthy body, that will rival any movie star. Please keep in mind though the focus isn’t on how you look, but really how you feel, think and effectively work in a day. If you are changing your lifestyle for the sole purpose of how you look, I can assure your committment to change will be short lived, and ultimately ineffective.

The question however at hand is, can I get a strong body, that is lean and healthy to match a movie star, using NEWSTART.

I believe you can. Having a healthy fit body, takes a number of factors, all of which are included in NEWSTART program. (more…)

Nutrition

I guess this is one of those topics that everyone has an opinion on, my hope is that I can help you sort through the rubbish and see the things that are relevant. There is no one correct way to go about this topic. However I believe there are a few simple themes/rules to follow. I will cover a wide range of topics, but keeping within these themes.

1. Sugar of any sort is a definite no no

2. Less is more

3. Eat living food to be alive, the 80/20 rule

4. Our digestive system leans more towards that of a herbivore

5. Nutrient rich food

6. Organic is better than non-organic

7. Less processed the better

8. Diets aren’t worth didly squat

9. Our bodies are pretty amazing, give them the right fuels/oils(think car) and they will run amazingly

10. Neglect nutrition/food at your own risk, there are more diet related diseases than anything else in this modern era

11. The right foods will energize you and you immune system (more…)

Overworking body

Imagine having a small family car. Instead of using it for short travel between home and office, you use it for long distance travel between different cities every day. Instead of using it 1 hour a day, you use it for 10 hours a day. Instead of driving at 70 km/h, you always speed up to 170 km/h, hitting engine’s red line.

Can you estimate your car life span? Do you expect having various problems with your car after a short time?

Driving your car at high speed for a long time is like always eating too full. You force your body to always work at its red line. (more…)

NEWSTART – E – Importance of Exercise

NEWSTART – Exercise

This is one of those topics that many people cringe at; it’s the one thing that is often a stumbling block for many. I would like our readers to really take up the challenge of exercise as it’s a crucial part of the NEWSTART program, or even take a step to making a change in their daily lifestyle, from a more sedentary one to a more active day.

Statistics in the UK

I read some statistics recently from the UK, and I think generally this covers most of western society, my suggestion is don’t become a statistic, as you read through them. Please don’t think I am trying to scare anyone into exercising, but think of it more as a plea for your health. (more…)

Water is Life

Water effect on our bodies

We are born in a watery world, we are creatures of water, here’s a few quick statistics of what we are made up of.

85% of our brain is water

82% of our blood

90% of our lungs

70% of our muscles

15% of our bones

On average 65-70% of our bodies are made up of water.

So you think we need to drink up? I think that goes without saying really. I know for some of you it might be hard, you were never brought up drinking water, you would prefer to down a cup of coffee, or an orange juice, and think that’s going to hydrate you. I’m afraid you are only kidding yourself really, I mean that in the best way possible. (more…)

Sugar, the scourge of your health

What is sugar? Sugar is a carbohydrate, which is basically, sugars and starches (as in potatoes, wheat). Different foods contain different types of sugars; sucrose in cane and beets, dextrose in corn; fructose in fruit and honey; galactose in milk and many more. Starch is found in grains, legumes and tubers (such as potatoes).

All sugars are converted in the body to glucose. Our three main food sources are proteins, fats and carbohydrates. For good health our body needs all three of these nutrients. (more…)
