When I talk about health, I am often inundated with talk about weight loss, and most people associate weight loss with good health. So I have succumbed to pressure and I am going to do a series on having a healthy body, that will rival any movie star. Please keep in mind though the focus isn’t on how you look, but really how you feel, think and effectively work in a day. If you are changing your lifestyle for the sole purpose of how you look, I can assure your committment to change will be short lived, and ultimately ineffective.
The question however at hand is, can I get a strong body, that is lean and healthy to match a movie star, using NEWSTART.
I believe you can. Having a healthy fit body, takes a number of factors, all of which are included in NEWSTART program. (more…)
One thing about NEWSTART is it doesn’t cost you anymore than what you are spending right now, probably might end up saving you money, lots of it actually.
Whether it is money spent on junk food, alcohol, smoking, medicals bills, days lost in your business, impacts on your relationship due to bad health, etc, etc. Look the benefits are exponential, and you really don’t need to be a rocket scientist to work it out.
I couldn’t resist, so I thought I would do a bit of bean counting(the old accountant in me).
So what does it cost to be a part of NEWSTART?
Nothing you wouldn’t spend normally, let me illustrate (more…)
I recently ran a poll/survey on my website and the two main reasons that people found that inhibited them from changing their lifestyles (NEWSTART) was lack of time, and inconvenience. I thought about that a lot, and I would have to agree on the surface level. Upon thinking on it a bit further, I think it goes a bit deeper, the psychology of change. Not that I am a psychologist or anything fancy for that matter, just thinking out a loud my thoughts more than anything.
Time
I figure time can’t be the real problem, because in essence we do have the time. Let me explain. How often do we come home from a hard day’s work, and rather than spend say thirty minutes of our time exercising, we spend :
- Hours sitting in front of a T.V
- Playing video games, playstation, wii, and xbox
- Facebooking
- Internet surfing
- Playing online computer games (more…)
Hi everyone, my name is Marlon Wambeek, I created this site with a purpose to honestly educate people about health. I would like to share my experiences and hopefully they can be a help to you as well.
For the best part of the last 10 years of my life I have worked as an Accountant, and a business consultant. But as much as accounting has been a “necessary evil” as one of my clients once told me, my real passion has always been health. (more…)
Well I touched briefly on the concept of NEWSTART in my earlier post. I will endeavour to explain briefly what it is, and how you can apply it to almost anything, whether that be weight loss, more energy, longevity, general well being, athlete, recovery from illness, or anything else for that matter.
So what is it?
Well each word in the acronym NEWSTART means something as follows:
N – Is for Nutrition, the old saying, “you are what you eat”, this couldn’t be more true, we live in a society of instant everything, foods have been processed to the point they shouldn’t be classed as “food” per se. I will explore the massive benefits of eating right, the myths, outright lies, and plain simple truths, and hopefully rather than add to the confusion of this topic, bring some semblance of balance into this well discussed topic. To see how eating habit affects life span, a professor from University of Texas did an experiment on mice.
For the first group of 100 mice, he let them eat without any restriction, just like a buffet meal. The second group was fed only 60% full. And the third group was given food without restriction too. But this time, he reduced protein content to half. After 2.5 years, guess how many mice were still alive out of 100?
* First group (eat without restriction) – only 13 mice was alive. Opsss…
* Second group (eat 60% full) – 97 mice was still alive. Only 3 mice died.
* Third group (eat without restriction with protein cut half) – 50 mice still alive. (more…)
Imagine having a small family car. Instead of using it for short travel between home and office, you use it for long distance travel between different cities every day. Instead of using it 1 hour a day, you use it for 10 hours a day. Instead of driving at 70 km/h, you always speed up to 170 km/h, hitting engine’s red line.
Can you estimate your car life span? Do you expect having various problems with your car after a short time?
Driving your car at high speed for a long time is like always eating too full. You force your body to always work at its red line. (more…)
Your car engine burns fuel to move your car and bring you to anywhere you like to go. As a result, the engine produces exhaust smoke which is toxic. It must be dispersed out from your car. Similarly, your body cell burns nutrient for energy to survive. In the process, it produces free radicals. Since free radical is toxic to your body, it has to be neutralized and expelled. “Just metabolizing food especially fatty and carbohydrate-rich fare causes the body to produce free radicals, which attack cells and can promote the development of chronic conditions including heart disease, diabetes and cancer,” says Ronald L. Prior, Ph.D.
Of course, your body can control free radicals in small quantities. But the more you eat, the more free radicals your body produces. Without adequate control, these free radicals easily attack your body cells and eventually cause all sorts of diseases.

AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY (‘TRY’, BEING THE KEY WORD) TO ELIMINATE CANCER, JOHNS HOPKINS HOSPITAL IS FINALLY STARTING TO TELL YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY.
Cancer Update from John Hopkins :
1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size. Take Charge of Your Health
I was recently listening to a report on the radio which stated that in just one council in sydney, they raised $42 million dollars in revenue from parking fines issued in one year. That is almost $800k a week in parking fines.
I thought that was absolutely amazing and I asked myself a question, how does that reflect on society? Why would you prefer to pay a parking fine, rather than go find a parking spot? Its symptomatic of a mentality that is content with paying more for convenience, rather than going that little bit extra and saving yourself a fine.
It made me think about health, and sometimes how frustrating it is to really help people to substantially improve there health, sometimes it seems we are more content in having a bandaid style health, rather than an actual genuine lifelong change, of vitality and health. The sad thing is most of what we need to improve our health is absolutely free, it just takes a little more effort and a change of attitude. (more…)
